7 Leader Debate 2 - Return of the Dead Eyes

ITV, 7.30 tonight.
7 panelist’s, not all leaders as Rayner was back for Labour, Mordant back for Conservative.
St Carla was back for the Greens, Farage for Reform, Daisy May Cooper back for Lib Dem’s and then two lads from Scotland and Wales also back for shits and giggles.
First the good news. Penny Mordants previous hair stylist has been taken out and shot. Her hair was all back to normal. it was a relief as there was concern about it being like a black hole and it sucking in anything near it.
After the anticipation of the first event this one felt dull. All presenters had learnt their lessons and were calmer and slicker.
ITV had certainly learnt their lessons and the format was improved.
Angela remains good for Labour but unfortunately she is and maybe always will be Marmite. If you didn’t like her before this probably won’t change that view.
The Celtic boys were riding on their increased popularity from previous debates and carried their smug, nothing matters to them vibe into this debate. The main thing we know about the SNP is that they’re brilliant, but if you list all the things that they’ve not got right over the last decade it’s Westminsters fault. For some reason no one seems to mention the sexual assault trial and arrest of their their previous two leaders. Who knows why.
The fact that they were part of the male section of the panel is unfortunate. It’s like the Celtic women have been told to stay out of politics.
The Welsh, no one knows what they want really, I’m not sure they do either. It’s nice. He finished his talk saying “I’m sure some people will wonder why this bloke from Wales is on my TV” and I felt he really had his finger on the pulse.
The Reform party has recently polled higher than the Tories which gave Nige the chance to say he was the real opposition to Labour. Unbelievable scenes. One good thing that hopefully this might bring is PR. We shall see. Until then, Nigel knows the problem to all the countries problems, it’s the black, who do need to go home and then we’ll be fine.
The one thing that is clear is that Mordant clearly has had strategy training. And that strategy is to keep repeating a lie and it will sink in. And I think I that’s right. At random intervals she shouted “Labour are going to raise taxes”. When this is put to Rayner, she responds saying “no we’re not” and it turns back to Mordant who says, “Angela has just confirmed Labour will raise your taxes”. This is essentially, mental, but lie enough and people will believe it. It sounds stupid but I think it’s effective.
Mordant is an effective performer but you have to admit that it would be funnier and more entertaining if it was Boris. you know he would have done some coke before going on then tried it on with the studio manager. Things were just more fun with Boris.
Carla holds her own well and is sensible. But that’s not enough for the British public. You can have a manifesto that says “we’d like to avoid destroying the human race” but that’s not enough for the British public. You also need to agree tix potholes and send 16 years olds to the army to learn to kill people to win votes.
In separate huge news some random Tory candidate who knew the election was going to be called placed a bet on the election date. He’s now under criminal investigation. One of his supporters defended him saying “with Everything we’ve got to cope with this is trivial” without questioning which party has created that list of everything we’re coping with.
